STIA provides a range of assessments to children, adolescents, and adults. We aim to provide strong evidence-based services to individuals within the community offering expertise in psychological assessments and intervention.

Psychological assessments are utilised to identify underlying challenges, aid diagnoses, and aid treatment planning. We offer the gold standard in assessment for intellectual, educational, clinical, social-emotional, and functional assessments.

Psychological assessments may also be used to diagnose neurodevelopmental disorders (Autism, ADHD, Intellectual disability), specific learning disorders or learning difficulties, giftedness, school readiness, and a range of social-emotional difficulties including; personality disorders, psychosis, anxiety/mood disorders, eating disorders, and oppositional or conduct disorders.

  • Gain a clearer understanding of how you or your child thinks, learns and performs with our Comprehensive Cognitive & Educational Assessment Package.

    This assessment is suitable for children aged 6 years and over and adults who would benefit from a detailed understanding of their cognitive strengths, areas of difficulty and learning profile.

    Our comprehensive assessment provides insight into the way an individual processes information, learns new skills, solves problems and approaches academic tasks. The results can help identify cognitive strengths and challenges, clarify areas that may be affecting learning or performance, and provide practical recommendations to support future development, education and treatment.

    What we assess

    Depending on the individual’s needs, the assessment can provide insight into:

    • Verbal comprehension – understanding, reasoning and expressing ideas using language

    • Visual and non-verbal intellectual skills – visual reasoning, problem-solving and interpreting information

    • Memory and learning – how information is learned, retained and recalled

    • Attention and information processing – concentration, processing speed and the ability to take in and respond to information

    • Executive functioning – higher-level skills such as planning, organisation, reasoning, problem-solving, impulse control and flexible thinking

    • Academic skills – including reading, reading comprehension, writing, mathematics and oral expression

    What's included

    ✓ Initial Clinical Interview – 60 minutes
    A detailed discussion of relevant history, current concerns, developmental or educational background, and the goals of the assessment.

    ✓ Standardised Cognitive Assessment
    Comprehensive assessment of cognitive abilities and thinking skills.

    ✓ Standardised Academic Assessment
    Assessment of key academic skills to identify areas of strength and difficulty.

    ✓ Additional Questionnaires
    Administration of relevant standardised questionnaires where appropriate to further understand the individual's functioning.

    ✓ School Observation (where appropriate)
    For children, a school observation may be recommended to gain additional insight into how they function and engage within their educational environment.

    ✓ Comprehensive Written Report
    A detailed report bringing together the assessment findings, identifying key strengths and areas of difficulty, and providing individualised, practical recommendations for home, school, work and/or treatment.

    ✓ Feedback Session – 60 minutes
    A dedicated session to explain the results, answer questions and discuss the recommendations and next steps.

    What to expect

    A comprehensive assessment takes several hours and is therefore completed across multiple sessions, allowing sufficient time for each area to be assessed thoroughly.

    For children, a school observation may also be recommended where additional information about classroom functioning would be helpful. School observations may involve additional time and fees, which will be discussed with you beforehand.

    Investment: $1,950

    The package is payable in three instalments:

    • $650 deposit at the time of booking

    • $650 prior to the cognitive assessment

    • $650 prior to the feedback session

  • Our Comprehensive ADHD Assessment provides a detailed assessment of cognitive and executive functioning to help clarify an individual's strengths, challenges and overall profile.

    This assessment is suitable for children aged 6 years and over and adults seeking a comprehensive assessment of ADHD.

    Rather than relying on questionnaires alone, our assessment combines standardised cognitive assessment with a detailed evaluation of executive functioning and relevant clinical questionnaires. This allows us to build a more comprehensive picture of how an individual thinks, processes information and manages the demands of everyday life, while supporting the diagnostic assessment process.

    What we assess

    The assessment provides insight into areas including:

    • Verbal comprehension – understanding, reasoning and expressing ideas using language

    • Visual and non-verbal intellectual skills – visual reasoning, problem-solving and interpreting information

    • Memory and learning – how information is learned, retained and recalled

    • Attention and information processing – concentration, processing speed and the ability to manage incoming information

    • Executive functioning – higher-level skills such as planning, organisation, problem-solving, reasoning, impulse control, working memory and managing competing demands

    The assessment also incorporates standardised questionnaires relevant to ADHD and executive functioning, helping to build a broader understanding of the individual.

    Administration of relevant standardised questionnaires to assess ADHD characteristics and executive functioning across relevant areas.

    ✓ Comprehensive Written Report
    A detailed report bringing together the assessment findings and providing individualised recommendations to support the individual's functioning at home, school, university, work and/or in treatment.

    ✓ Feedback Session – 60 minutes
    A dedicated session to explain the assessment findings, discuss the diagnostic formulation, answer questions and explore recommended next steps.

    What to expect

    A comprehensive ADHD assessment takes several hours and is completed across multiple sessions. This allows adequate time for a thorough assessment rather than relying on a single brief appointment.

    For children, a school observation may also be recommended where additional information about classroom functioning would assist with the assessment. School observations may involve additional time and fees, which will be discussed with you beforehand.

    Investment: $2,400

    The package is payable in three instalments:

    • $800 at the time of booking

    • $800 prior to the cognitive assessement

    • $800 prior to the feedback session

    Important information

    Our ADHD assessments are completed by a psychologist. Psychologists are unable to prescribe medication. Where medication is being considered, we can discuss appropriate options for referral to a psychiatrist or medical practitioner.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of your personality with our Comprehensive Personality Assessment Package.

    This assessment is suitable for adults aged 18 years and over who are seeking a thorough, evidence-based assessment of personality and psychological functioning.

    The assessment uses the MMPI®-3 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-3), a contemporary and widely used psychological assessment designed to provide a comprehensive picture of personality and psychological functioning. The MMPI-3 is used across mental health, medical, forensic and public safety settings.

    Rather than focusing on a single aspect of personality, the assessment provides a broader profile of an individual's psychological characteristics, helping to identify relevant patterns, strengths and areas that may benefit from further support.

    What's included

    ✓ Initial Clinical Interview – 60 minutes
    A comprehensive discussion of your current concerns, relevant history and the goals of the assessment.

    ✓ MMPI®-3 Assessment – approximately 50 minutes
    The MMPI-3 is completed independently via computer using a standardised assessment process.

    ✓ Comprehensive Written Report
    A detailed report interpreting the assessment findings and providing individualised recommendations based on your presentation and assessment results.

    ✓ Feedback Session – 60 minutes
    A dedicated session to discuss your results, answer questions and provide a clear understanding of the findings and recommended next steps.

    Investment: $1,200

    The package is payable in three instalments:

    • $400 deposit at the time of booking

    • $400 prior to completing the MMPI-3

    • $400 prior to the feedback session

    This comprehensive approach combines clinical interview, standardised psychological assessment and individualised feedback to provide a meaningful understanding of your personality.

    This package is designed for adults aged 18 years and over who are seeking a thorough, evidence-based diagnostic assessment. Using the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 Disorders (SCID-5), our clinicians conduct a comprehensive assessment to help clarify your current presentation, identify relevant diagnoses, and inform appropriate treatment recommendations.

    The SCID-5 is a clinician-administered structured interview that provides a systematic and comprehensive assessment of DSM-5 disorders. The interview typically takes 30–150 minutes, depending on the complexity of your presentation and whether there are co-occurring conditions requiring further exploration.

    ✓ Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment
